Position Overview:

Freddie Mac's Finance Division is seeking a Financial Controller Professional to be part of the Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) CFO department. We're building a better housing finance system that's providing global investors innovative opportunities to invest in the U.S. housing market. Pair your passion with purpose!

Our Impact:

The IC&M CFO department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, portfolio risk and profitability analysis, pricing and valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac's Capital Markets segment. The hired individual will join Participation Certificate (PC) debt and Mortgage Related Security (MRS) Amortization group under I&CM Financial Accounting team with the talent to make an outstanding impact!

Your Impact:

In this role, you will play an integral part supporting the financial close for the I&CM CFO department. You will be engaged with activities that support the monthly and quarterly accounting close and the analysis of the related financial results with the ability to be an authority in this area. As a member of the MRS accounting team, you will be involved with the accounting and financial analysis related to the PC debt and other MRS accounting areas. Your role includes:

  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documents
  • Perform monthly validations and balancing between subledger, general ledger and source systems
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly analytics reports
  • Prepare quarterly footnotes and disclosures to support public financial reporting
  • Support SOX documentation requirements
  • Prepare ad-hoc requests when needed
  • Interact and communicate optimally with business and other upstream or downstream partners
  • Proactively seek opportunities for improvements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proven track record to produce results and solve sophisticated problems and work on a team in an ambitious environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred experience using PeopleSoft Financials, SQL querying

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $75,000 - $113,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
