Position Overview:

Freddie Mac's Finance division is currently seeking a Data Analytics Tech Lead to be part of the Multifamily CFO department. The Multifamily CFO department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, profitability analysis, loan and guarantee valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac's Multifamily segment. The hired individual will be part of the Multifamily CFO's Automation & Support Team and contribute to the department's efforts to improve efficiency and develop a culture of innovation.

Our Impact:

  • Lead and support changes to accounting systems in the MF CFO area, including business enhancements, infrastructure upgrades and security vulnerability remediation.
  • Identify process improvements and automate manual processes performed by the MF CFO team to improve efficiency.
  • Provide production application support to solve any issues during the financial close.
  • Assist and support ongoing SOX activities.

Your Impact:

  • Lead the department's effort to improve process and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide expert guidance, drive consistency, build solutions when needed, and train Finance employees on technology solutions to foster a culture of innovation, growth, collaboration and sustainability.
  • Support the team in multiple projects ensuring alignment to appropriate methodology, Controls and Quality Standards.
  • Develop key project artifacts such as project scope, business requirements, product and sprint backlogs, risk and controls assessment, issues and risks, user acceptance testing, documentation, and SOX testing.
  • Develop requirements, perform complex data analysis and user acceptance testing (UAT) for finance and accounting applications with multi-functional collaboration.
  • Assess and document impacts from data and product changes to systems and processes.
  • Plan and implement data conversion, data mapping and data reconciliation activities.
  • Write features, stories, and acceptance criteria. Review and approve the tasks completed by other team members by validating against business requirements and/or acceptance criteria.
  • Manage production application support duties which involve on-call support for troubleshooting critical data and system issues of supported applications, logging issues, and working with IT and Vendor to determine root cause.
  • Support business operational risk controls, Internal/External audit activities.

Qualifications:

  • Typically has 8+ years of experience in performing data analysis, and/or business analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and an ability to communicate results to management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, SQL and Python.
  • Expertise in querying, analyzing, reconciling, and testing complex relational data. Experience in non-relational database is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting, subledger and financial reporting concepts.
  • Progress towards CFA, CPA, or related certifications preferred

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $113,000 - $169,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
