You will be responsible for establishing, enabling and implementing team-wide standards and practices for delivering high quality engineering solutions with a focus on quality, predictability, repeatability, and scalability. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in delivery within the application services (AKA Middleware) engineering team. Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.

We engineer middleware products and services that are scalable, resilient and assure rapid recoverability from any impacts to business and services. Your Impact:
As a leader for Application services (Middleware engineering), you will
- Assume the role of a service owner and associated responsibilities
- Drive organizational transformation by bringing cloud native and on-premise engineering teams into a cohesive organized team
- Consolidate / Optimize / transform / modernize application hosting services. Portfolio includes webservers, application servers, messaging / broker systems, application run time engines like Java, Spring etc.
- Drive Customer Experience (CX) and Developer Experience (DX) culture on MW engineering practice
- Elevate MW services to a "managed service provide" like offering that is efficient while delivering solutions to internal customers at a rapid pace
- Develop teams of engineers to think and implement proactively to ensure the stability and security of the platform
- Identify, Influence and Implement technology, process and skill changes to modernize our infrastructure
- Collaborate with senior leadership to assure visible communication, risk reduction and accountability for the performance of the team
Qualifications:
- College Degree or equivalent experience of 12+ years
- 5+ years of people management & organizational transformation skills
- 10+ years of authority level experience engineering new technical solutions
- Expertise in MW services such as Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, Appian, Apigee, MQ, Kafka, enterprise schedulers like control-M etc are strongly encouraged
- Budget & vendor management is preferred
- Communicates well within the team to set clear goals and efficiently relay the status of accomplishments to management
- Must not only lead current technical trends, but also anticipate the team's growth in our future state technologies
- An eye for automating common processes
- AWS or other Cloud experience a plus

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $202,000 - $302,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
