Position Overview:

Are you looking for a fast-paced, influential position handling a broad range of employee relations matters such as investigating allegations and complaints, as well as coaching and counseling all levels of employees on a broad range of employee relations matters? We are searching for an experienced and talented employee relations professional to join this highly collaborative employee relations team, housed in Freddie Mac's Human Resource Division.

The Employee Relations Advisory Team is responsible for handling a broad range of employment law and employee relations matters, including the resolution of employment allegations and complaints to ensure fairness, consistency, legal compliance, and mitigate corporate risk.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will:

  • Investigate employee allegations and complaints of violations of Freddie Mac policy or applicable law. Activities will include interviewing witnesses, gathering and reviewing relevant documents, analyzing and synthesizing the information gathered to determine the facts, assessing witness credibility, preparing a concise investigation report, making recommendations to management for remedial action, updating the case tracking system and assisting with reporting and analytics.
  • Counsel employees (executives, people managers, and staff) on a broad range of employee relations issues, including performance management, disability and religious accommodations, leave, corrective action, reductions-in-force, involuntary terminations, and employee relations policies.
  • Use your employee relations expertise to develop creative, effective solutions to often complex employee relations problems, issues and challenges.
  • Proactively identify enhancements to employee relations processes and practices.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant employee relations experience
  • Subject matter expertise in relevant federal, state and local employment laws
  • Proven workplace investigations skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence
  • Experience advising, counseling and making recommendations to management on a broad range of people related matters
  • Proven to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels across the enterprise
  • Keen attention to detail, sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy
  • Intellectually curious and innovative problem solver
  • Proven ability to exercise the utmost discretion and preserve confidentiality

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $94,000 - $140,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
