Position Overview:

This is a Director, Software Engineering role in Investments & Capital Markets technology department to deliver software solutions for an enterprise-wide program supporting Financial & Capital Forecasting used in regulatory reporting. This program provides an integrated software platform for interest rate, house price, credit & market risk, loan loss reserves and capital models to produce consolidated balance & income statements for current and future time horizons. Additionally, the platform provides capabilities for Annual Business Planning and Risk Appetite in support of managing business activities.

As a director in this team, you will lead a team of developers to implement software solutions to manage various model inputs, create & execute workflows and reporting frameworks.

We work with all the business divisions across the firm to support capital & financial forecasting by delivering a streamlined and automated software capabilities by reducing or eliminating manual process.

Your Impact:

  • Build a high-quality service orchestration framework that optimizes execution of various components with workflow capabilities
  • Build a high-quality reporting framework that can handle large datasets with best UX including the ability to self-service user defined reports
  • Design and develop new code, review existing code to ensure standard technology development practices are followed
  • Direct application development and modifying and/or maintaining applications; Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages
  • Partner with management in other areas of model implementation teams when defining requirements for systems applications
  • Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to subordinate managers
  • Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
  • Ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to relationship

Qualifications:

  • College Degree or equivalent experience; advanced studies/degree preferred
  • Typically has 12+ years related experience and 4+ years management experience in software development
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in programming languages like Python, Java/C++, and Web UI frameworks like React, AngularJS
  • A hands-on technical leader with expertise in software design, coding best practices, participate in code reviews & coding, and delivering scalable and resilient technical solutions
  • Experience in handling large datasets and reporting/analytical tools
  • Leadership skills to guide, mentor and motivate team members to perform at their full potential
  • Project & Budget management experience

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $203,000 - $305,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
