Our Development Factory Group, is searching for an IT Development Senior. Our team is made up of hardworking individuals who thrive in an exciting work environment and enjoy utilizing their problem-solving skills.
This specific role is for an application Database Administrator who will handle upgrades on different platforms, supporting end to end implementation in all environments and providing technical guidance to project execution team.
The position will also ensure alignment to standards and procedures across all platforms and be ready to step outside of their comfort zone to solve software issues. This role will ensure a high level of quality and accuracy in project delivery across all lines.

Your Impact:
- Lead database upgrade projects from analysis to implementation, owning all activities involved for various RDBMS platforms (SAP ASE, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, MSSQL Server, etc.)
- Be able to provide subject matter expertise in at least one of the above technologies.
- Proficient in two or more RDBMS platforms.
- Be able to troubleshoot functional and performance issues in multiple platforms involving multiple technologies.
- Experience with database transformation initiatives from one platform to another.
- Work with the technical lead to update SOPs and checklists for the team to follow and ensure compliance across the board.
- Mentor junior team members and provide direction wherever necessary.
- Coordinate and oversee work done by consultants on the team.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and automate tasks, wherever possible.
- Ability to multitask and provide DBA support to a large group of developers and testers, sometimes in parallel.
- Work with TS counterparts and coordinate server/instance and database builds, database refreshes and security implementations.
- Employ extensive professional experience and creativity to resolve sophisticated technical problems
- Document lessons learned, help maintain knowledge database
- Collaboratively work with all other IT Teams to identify "Win/Win" opportunities and improve efficiency
- Contributing to and influencing technology decisions with business partners, IT management and Team members on matters concerning multiple sophisticated projects which requires the ability to negotiate while maintaining effective relationships
- Driving technical solutions in alignment with architectural roadmaps
- Engage with Engineering and other technology partners in the project inception phase to understand environment complexities and help define remediation strategy and test strategy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
- Production / Application DBA with 5 - 7 years of experience in database administration.
- Proficient in multiple RDBMS platforms including SAP ASE (Sybase), Oracle, MSSQL Server, PostgreSQL and DB2.
- 5+ years of experience in database version upgrades and cross-platform migrations.
- Proficient in different replication technologies/high availability solutions for databases.
- Strong UNIX knowledge and proficiency in shell scripts.
- Working knowledge of PERL, Python and other similar scripting languages.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of hardware performance, memory and I/O.
- Experience with DBMS specific tools for query/explain plans, database advisors, query snapshots, ability to understand them and troubleshoot the problems.
- Experience in supporting application teams in development/testing environments.
- Strong understanding of database interfacing technologies such as ODBC, JDBC and DBMS Native clients.
- Experience / knowledge of middleware technologies such as WebLogic, WebMethods, Apache/Tomcat is a plus.
- Working knowledge of AWS and experience managing systems in the cloud is a plus.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $116,000 - $174,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
