Position Overview:
The Development Director is a key team member of the Freddie Mac's Enterprise Risk Management Technologies Team within Enterprise Business Technology Office. Financial Risk and Compliance Management technology team is responsible for partnering with the Enterprise Financial Risk Management and Compliance organizations to define strategies, roadmaps, objectives, and deliver capabilities that transform the businesses. This role will be responsible for a sophisticated portfolio of the financial risk management and compliance technology solutions within the Enterprise Risk Management technology organization.

The Director will lead multi-discipline technology teams, provide strategic and technical mentorship, direct vendor selection and management, and ensure alignment between programs, business partners, and Enterprise Operations and Technology teams and strategies. This position requires a strong communicator who can translate complex technical issues into easily understood communications that will influence executive audiences with varied technical backgrounds and capabilities.
Our Impact:
- Delivery of Enterprise Financial Risk Management solutions, including enterprise model risk governance, credit risk oversight, and price verification to optimally assess and track all risks, issues, controls, and compliance.
- Delivery and support of solutions for the Compliance organization, including fraud detection technologies.
- Adoption of FHFA comprehensive Regulatory Reporting modifications and resolution of outstanding data quality issues.
- Integration with a common Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) data platform to enable effective ERM data analytics and reporting.
Your Impact:
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to define technology roadmap and delivery strategy for the Financial Risk Management and Compliance organizations.
- Continue to Improve our portfolio by modernizing our technology and team capabilities, taking advantage of emerging trends.
- Lead development teams supporting a varied application portfolio.
- Implement solutions to satisfy Corporate and FHFA scorecards.
- Lead the reporting and remediation of security vulnerabilities and application obsolescence.
- Assess architectural changes, technology platform decisions, and new technology selection and introduction for its impacts to the business.
- Establish operational objectives and work plans. Prepare materials for Senior management reviews. Involved in developing, modifying, and executing company policies that effect immediate operations that have a company-wide effect.
- Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning Financial Risk Management area and/or customers. Requires an ability to influence others in sensitive situations, while maintaining productive business relationships.
- Provide solutions support when issues are identified either by the Product Team or as triaged and raised by the Global Operations.

- Be a role model and technical mentor to the junior and midlevel developers, work alongside of highly collaborative, open minded, technology savvy and dedicated team members.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of relevant software development and delivery experience
- 8+ years of management experience
- 5+ years of software management experience, leading other managers
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience; advanced/studies degree preferred
- Experience in directing a team of 20+ IT professionals and developing partnerships across multiple business areas concurrently to deliver complicated technology solutions.
- Experience and knowledge of Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), modern architectures (micro-services, etc.), development languages (Java, JavaScript, Python), DevSecOps
- Experience with model governance and AI
- Experience with SaaS implementations
- Experience with Agile development and product teams

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $195,000 - $293,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
