Position Overview:

The Office of Data Management (ODM) within the Finance Division defines a consistent data management program to enable Finance departments to align with corporate data policies and standards and ultimately derive value from Data. We work with various Finance departments on data management documentation, certifications, data analytics efforts and Audit Issue remediation, among others.

This role will be responsible for the management of business-focused projects (e.g., Data Governance, Data Quality, and Other Data related functions), provide innovative, thorough, and practical resolutions to a range of problems, and work on and lead projects that require broad knowledge of the ODM and its key functions.

Our Impact:

Our team implements and supervises several key data management related items, from metadata, structured and unstructured data practices, and identification of critical data elements (CDEs) all the way to its lineage representation in Freddie Mac's approved data lineage tools. We also define a Data Management program in Finance through a Data Strategy that is aligned with our Technology and Enterprise Data Strategy. ODM Collaborates with external data owners to ensure source data quality aligns with business needs. Some key highlights of our role include:

  • Collaboration with the division risk officer (DRO) to develop divisional procedures that align with corporate guidelines and the finance data strategy.
  • Assessment of risk management criteria such as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
  • Develop strategy for data management program, evaluating the performance of the data management program, monitoring and reporting of data management controls and data quality controls
  • Support Finance Analytics initiatives with innovative solutions and approaches and reinforce Data Governance practices within Analytics

Your Impact:

As a member of the ODM Team you will:

  • Support in the response to regulatory requirements around Data Governance and Management including but not limited to: Documenting Metadata, Data Controls and Dat a Lineage
  • Support in the management of the Program including roadmap creation, detailing program or project risks and creating dashboards for leadership
  • Use computational tools such as Python to analyze the lineage of Critical Data Element (CDEs) to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information from internal and external sources with attention to detail.
  • Construct detailed presentation decks, reports, automated programs, and algorithms to detect and explain data management related issues
  • Demonstrate understanding of internal business segment (partners)
  • Connect with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of related professional experience
  • Master's Degree or advanced degree preferred
  • Demonstrable experience working with large-scale business data sets
  • Proficient in scripting and rapid prototyping skills including expertise in technology such as SQL and Python.
  • Previous experience with Metadata management tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • Previous experience with AWS is a plus
  • Prior experience with Data Modelling is a plus
  • Sound understanding of concepts related to Data and Technology Architecture, Software Development Lifecycle and Resiliency

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $102,000 - $154,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
