The Investments and Capital Markets (I&CM) division at Freddie Mac is currently seeking a Data Governance, Senior to join our team (first line of defense). The successful candidate will perform data governance and compliance activities as part of the I&CM Information and Technology Risk Governance Team. The role requires attention to detail, multi-tasking, and well-developed organizational skills. Will collaborate closely with I&CM key partners, and regularly engage with I&CM Business and Technology Office (BTO) personnel in monitoring the compliance of information risk policies, standards, and procedures.

Our Impact:

  • Govern information and technology risk and implement data governance in the I&CM division.
  • Evaluate and assess information risk profile for the division.
  • Influencing and partnering across I&CM to help them mature their data management practices
  • Finding and driving efficiencies within I&CM's data ecosystem
  • Proactively champion the value of information (data) as a strategic business asset in I&CM

Your Impact:

  • Crafting strategies around data quality and implementation of metadata and information governance
  • Creating and maintaining processes and procedures to align with divisional and enterprise standards related to data governance.
  • Support the identification and management of I&CM's critical data.
  • Assist in Day-to-day execution of I&CM data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality, issue management and the protection of sensitive data through appropriate procedures and controls
  • Partnering with appropriate groups within I&CM, I&CM BTO and Enterprise functions to develop and implement effective strategies related to information risk management and governance
  • Developing management reporting related to information risk.
  • Management of I&CM Community in Collibra
    • Comply with Enterprise requirements for metadata capture including data lineage
    • Timely maintenance of information and relationships between processes, applications, business terms, trusted sources, physical locations, etc.
    • Development and maintenance of workflows
    • Coordination with other divisions on metamodel changes

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of information risk / data governance experience within the financial services industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Finance, or related field
  • Hands-on data experience with Collibra
  • Hands-on data experience with reporting and data tools such as Tableau / Alteryx
  • Experience defining and detailing business processes and information flows including metadata and data lineage
  • Proven understanding of industry standard processes related to information risk management
  • Experience crafting and maintaining operational policies, standards and procedures related to managing information risk and data governance
  • Solid understanding of cloud technology (AWS) is helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and APIs is a plus

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $105,000 - $157,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
