Position Overview:

This position will work within the Automation Engineering (AE) team as an accountable team member within the Automation Center of Excellence (COE).

Our Impact:

The Automation Engineering team are key members of the Automation COE. The Automation COE sets the automation guidelines for all Platform & Infrastructure teams. Automation developer contributions transforms how Freddie Mac business units request platform services from the Enterprise Operations & Technology organization.

Your Impact:

  • Support Automation framework design
  • Support Automation framework tools (add/replace/remediate vulnerabilities)
  • Develop Automation framework core automation provisioning & retirement services
  • Develop Automation framework security and work with Information Security Architecture, Vulnerability teams, and remediation owners
  • Automation development work within ServiceNow to create/support Service Catalog Order Guides and Catalog Requests that simplify Freddie Mac's end user automated provisioning of services.
  • Assist in troubleshooting other Automation COE Automation Service Owners on their Ansible collection/role automation
  • Collaborate/Consult/Deliver automation framework training
  • Provide ongoing automation training/mentoring to junior automation developers and/or other engineering resources

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 - 10 years of overall IT infrastructure experience with strong IT Automation background
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Strong scripting and/or programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Python, Java-script, PowerShell, Json, YAML, Ansible
  • Strong usage of DevOps CI/CD pipeline and build tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Rafay, Gitlab/hub, Artifactory, Bitbucket)
  • Experience with REST API programming and system integration across multiple IT tools
  • Senior administration-level experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems
  • Strong experience with Atlassian Jira and Confluence collaboration tools as well as ServiceNow

Technical Experience level:

  • Expert in Public Cloud Hyper-scalers: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud
  • Expert in Ansible, Shell, Python, Json, Yaml
  • Expert in SAST/DAST Tools
  • Intermediate in Atlassian Confluence and Jira
  • Expert in Agile methodologies
  • Expert in CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jenkins
  • Expert in basic networking; IP subnets, subnet mask,
  • CIDR blocks, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewall
  • Expert in Firewall source and destination TCP/UDP port access

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Strong understanding of IT core services.
  • Strong automation provisioning using ServiceNow (frontend) to Jenkins & Ansible (backend)
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment and across multiple teams
  • Sense of urgency and able to apply a risk-based approach to prioritize work
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills and attention to detail
  • Motivated to learn new technologies and identify process improvements and efficiencies.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $132,000 - $198,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
