Position Overview:

Freddie Mac has an exciting opportunity for a Development, Senior to work in the Enterprise BTO department of the Information Technology division. We are seeking a motivated individual to design and develop enhancements to software applications on SAS platform. As a member of the IT development team, the Individual would implement software changes and address data related issues.

The individual would champion technology and tools changes/improvements that improve delivery processes. Work collaboratively with other open minded, technology savvy and dedicated agile team members.

Our Impact:

We build and enhance software applications required for mandatory reporting of Freddie Mac's mortgage loan data to Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Your Impact:

You will have significant impact on our team, and in our organization. You will primarily develop code for data centric software applications, while embracing and promoting the Agile attitude. You will help implement Regulatory Reporting product vision and communicate effectively to key partners. You will also assist with evaluation of new technologies with quick proof of concepts and support applications in production. Provide high quality, continuous operations, and ongoing support ensuring critical service level, customer requirements and financial objectives.

Responsibilities include the following.

  • Develop scalable and reliable data solutions to move data across systems from multiple sources in real time as well as batch modes
  • Develop innovative and automation solutions in the areas of data engineering including technology implementations using Agile construct
  • Support applications, including providing fixes to production defects and making enhancements
  • Quickly evaluate defects, investigate causes and come up with solutions to address defects
  • Provide production support and provide clear communication on the resolution of incidents
  • Partner with Product and Business team members to ensure high quality product is developed and released into production.
  • Work closely with Architecture, Stakeholders, Operations Partners, and Business Product teams to specify and refine solutions and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent working experience
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in SAS, shell scripting, Control-M and db2/Sybase/Oracle SQL skills.
  • Strong analytical and development skills required to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Team player with positive attitude.
  • Innovative in providing solutions and likes to take on challenges with calculated risks.
  • Strive to constantly improve the application development processes and tools.
  • Experience in all aspects of system development life cycle methodologies including agile development
  • Quick learner of new technologies and tools.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and management on both the business and IT sides.
  • Optional Skills:
  • Data Engineering solution delivery using AWS (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR, Pyspark, Data lake), Python, Snowflake, Dev Ops and CI/CD tools
  • Knowledge and experience working with DataStage
  • Knowledge and experience working with Java

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $127,000 - $191,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
