At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you'll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Position Overview:

This Data Engineering position targets the support and further development of Freddie Data Platform components such as Big Data Analytics Platform and Snowflake, also to support Appraisal Data Analytics and other business applications in the team's portfolio.

Our team is in charge of developing and supporting the company-wide data platform aiming to modernize the data portfolio for different divisions and teams.

Your Impact:

You will be in charge of self-directed work related to support, maintenance, improvement and development of various data ingestion and data consumptions systems and components. Proactively identify areas of optimization and improvement in data pipelines, cloud and on-prem infrastructure, addressing software and configuration vulnerabilities, identifying and implementing opportunities for further automation.

Qualifications:

Experience Requirements

• 2+ years of hands on experience in AWS Cloud development

• 2+ years of hands on experience in Linux and shell scripting.

• 2+ years of experience working with git / bit bucket

• 2+ years of related industry experience in an enterprise environment.

• 2+ years of hands on experience in Python programming / Jupyter Notebook

• 2+ years of hands on experience in Database / SQL scripting (Snowflake Preferred)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.

• Self-motivated, driven, and creative individual.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes

• Agile programming processes and methodologies such as Scrum.

Knowledge Of -

• SAS Analytics Software & Solutions platform and programming

• PySpark, Spark

• Informatica Power Center ETL development

• Scheduling tools like ControlM , Autosys

• Hadoop distributions such as Cloudera

• Ability to integrate into existing team's and company's processes

• Problem-solving skills related to infrastructure, data engineering, risk remediation tasks

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $85,000 - $127,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
