This position is a new position reporting to the CTO, who reports to the CEO of Ford Credit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the company's AI strategy, aligning it with overall business goals.
- Oversee the research and partner in the development of AI technologies and applications.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities for AI-driven innovation.
- Establish best practices for AI development, including ethical considerations, model governance, and regulatory compliance.
Research and Development
- Drive AI research initiatives to explore and develop new algorithms, models, and approaches.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI research and industry trends.
- Lead a team of AI researchers to develop and implement advanced AI models and algorithms.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and experimentation within the AI team.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of AI scientists and specialists.
- Publish research papers, whitepapers, and case studies showcasing the company's AI innovations.

- Be a key contributor to the AI roadmap and its execution.
- Create customer facing and business facing experiences that execute models for productivity enhancements, revenue optimization or for customer loyalty.
- Practice research and applied AI to transform customer experiences using traditional ML and GenAI.

QUALIFICATIONS
You'll have...
- Advanced degree (master's or PhD) in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in AI/ML research and development, with a focus on applications in finance, customer experience. and customer servicing.
- Experience with predictive models, NLP systems, recommendation engines and other AI applications
- Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning, natural language processing, and other AI techniques.
- Ensure models are robust, scalable, and meet regulatory and compliance standards.
- Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and improve decision-making processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and/or R.
- Proven experience with AI frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.

- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Published research in top-tier AI conferences or journals.
- Track record of white papers published in AI/ML.
- Having perspective to build partnerships, drive technology transformation and develop capabilities from the outside/in to support a growth strategy.
- Innovating, anticipating the future, and working toward continuous improvement in the technology teams.
