Position Overview: The Sales Engineer will provide comprehensive technical support and expertise to the Public Sector sales team and customers, focusing on the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions. This role also involves time to time interaction with the Canadian Government and requires travel as needed. The ideal candidate will also work closely with marketing to help create customer-facing collateral for Public Sector-focused product campaigns and will independently manage technical enablement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize in-depth product knowledge to deliver technical expertise through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Assist sales staff in evaluating potential applications of company products to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products, applications, and solutions.
  • Develop detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products, applications, and solutions.
  • Create use case labs and mockups based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility, often involving rapid prototyping and product demos.
  • Provide consultation to prospective users and conduct product capability assessments and validations.
  • Plan and execute partner technical enablement activities, including technical exchange meetings, brown bag sessions, and enablement videos.
  • Review and help respond to RFPs and project proposals
  • 25% travel

Experience and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in using professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.
  • Proven ability to contribute to the development of new ideas, methods, and theories.
  • Expertise in developing resolutions to complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors and frequent use of creativity.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Strong networking skills with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
  • Capability to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and coordinate activities of other personnel.
  • Ability to work independently with significant latitude in determining objectives of assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with product management to advocate for necessary features, certifications, or integrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player in a collaborative fast paced environment

Qualifications:

  • University degree and 6+ years of related experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior experience selling to the Department of Defense and military clients.
  • Exposure to selling to State, Local, and Education (SLED) sectors is a plus.

This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful pre-sales technical support and implementation of our complex product solutions, contributing significantly to our organizational objectives.
