Our dynamic and growing team is seeking a highly motivated candidate to join us. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead innovative projects and identify ways to streamline both fulfillment claims and the recovery processes.

The opportunity: 

The Claims Manager will be responsible for leading Flexport’s Omnichannel claims team, with a focus on fulfillment claims and carrier recoveries. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the claims department, manage a global team of claims employees, and ensure that all claims are handled efficiently and effectively. The Claims Manager will also play a key role in implementing new processes and tools to improve claims recovery and overall client experience.

You will:

  • Manage the claims process from start to finish, including initial assessment, investigation, carrier recovery, and resolution using digital tools and technology
  • Oversee fulfillment claim recoveries from carriers, ensuring claims are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Supervise a global team of claims employees, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Ensure that all claims are handled in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Communicate with clients, underwriters, carriers, and other stakeholders through digital channels (email, chat) to resolve claims and provide updates
  • Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends and potential issues using digital platforms
  • Develop and implement training programs for claims employees, improving their proficiencies. 
  • Work closely with other departments, such as sales, Omnichannel (fulfillment) operations, and risk management, to ensure alignment and consistency across the company
  • Stay current with industry developments and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Continuously research and implement new technologies and digital tools to improve the cargo and parcel claims process

You should have:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience managing cargo and/or fulfillment claims
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of cargo and parcel insurance policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with technology and digital tools used in claims processing
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in implementing new technologies or digital tools to improve efficiency or service delivery.
