To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a BBU/ESS Sr. Firmware Manager located in Taipei Design Site .

Reporting to the Site Director , the BBU/ESS Sr. Firmware Manager involves leading a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining embedded firmware for battery backup units/Energy storage systems. Role will involve leading firmware development, implementing robust firmware solutions, and ensuring reliability and adherence to standards.

What a typical day looks like :
  • Lead and mentor a team of firmware engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Drive the development of embedded firmware, including low-level drivers, software safety, software security and communication protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, test engineers and other teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware.
  • Define coding standards and development processes to maintain high-quality firmware codebase.
  • Oversee firmware test validation and compliance with standards.
  • Generate Software specification for customer requirements.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends in firmware development.
The experience we're looking to add to our team :
  • Bachelor's degree or above with Power Electronics or electrical engineering background.
  • At least 15 years of experiences in firmware development and 5 yrs experience in people management.
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ programming, assembly language, VS studio, python and real-time operating systems is a plus.
  • Familiar with Firmware development for power supply AC to DC, DC to DC converter, Energy storage system or battery backup unit product.
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures and peripheral interfaces.
  • Knowledge of firmware development methodologies and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with DSP, MCU, ARM devices, AFE, Gas/Fuel Gauge devices and communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, I2C, SPI and Modbus.
  • Familiarity with UL safety standards applied to embedded software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
