Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Sr. Staff Engineer located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Design Process and Technology Engineering, the Senior Staff Engineer-Hardware Engineering role involves...

What a typical day looks like:
  • Define and develop hardware architectures and concept designs for high performance, automotive grade computing and communications systems. Develop specifications and other documentation to drive hardware design and implementation.
  • Implement detailed electrical hardware designs at the board and system level. Create schematics and guide high PCB speed design.
  • Analyze electrical designs using worst case circuit analysis (WCCA), DFMEA and other Automotive System Engineering methods.
  • Define and execute electrical test plans to verify designs at the board and system level.
  • Provide expert review of schematics, layout, electro-mechanical design and verification test plans to ensure design implementation meets specified hardware architecture.
  • Participate in program quoting efforts to create preliminary architectures, development strategies and work scope to drive resource estimations.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • A Bachelor's degree in System, Electrical or Computer engineering or related fields.
  • A strong capability to learn and absorb new information and adapt to challenging project needs. A high level of analytical ability and a positive and motivated attitude.
  • 7+ years experience in product development of complex, fault tolerant and resilient computing systems in the automotive industry
  • Experience with one or more of the following computing technologies: server class x86 processors, multi core ARM systems, FPGA and ISP technologies, GPU/NPU for machine learning (ML) applications.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating in system development and supporting design execution. Ability to occasionally travel internationally to support projects.
  • Experience with advanced technologies such as Autonomous Driving, ADAS, and Compute systems.
  • Experience with: Automotive Functional Safety, fault tolerant systems, camera and imaging systems, hardware and software AI technologies.
