Job Summary

Summary:

Job Summary: The Quality Technician is responsible for performing product inspections and audits of quality control programs. This includes first article inspections, calibration, inspecting flat blank layouts, conducting out of box audits (OBA), and sampling/testing of incoming components and raw materials. The technician ensures that raw materials, in-process items, and finished products meet company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits of processes, tests, and inspections of products.
  • Develop, compile, and evaluate statistical data to maintain product quality and reliability.
  • Work from engineering drawings, specifications, and defined plans to perform complex engineering testing and inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and confer with management or engineering staff to define quality standards.
  • Select processes and products for audits, checking for features such as ESD handling practices and documentation integrity.
  • Record audit data and apply statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluate data and write reports to indicate deviations from standards.
  • Recommend modifications to quality or production standards to optimize quality.
  • Perform calibration on inspection tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
  • Maintain gage track program and calibration records.
  • Prepare graphs or charts of data for research purposes.
  • Download quality information for QA reports and research engineering test results.
  • Conduct out of box audits as required.
  • Provide factory hold-up to resolve issues with purchased parts and materials.
  • Perform receiving inspections as needed.
  • Review Quality Auditors' assistance and validate checklists at the beginning of shifts.
  • Ensure scrap disposition at MRB within 24 hours.
  • Assure customer implementation activities are in place.
  • Meet SSYMA requirements (boats, goggles, gloves, ear plugs).
  • Review SPC data and confirm the effectiveness of actions taken.
  • Validate that tooling and gauges are functioning properly.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in quality control or a similar field.
