Job Summary
Principle Accountabilities:
Inspect and test products at various stages in the production process.
Establish testing procedures to determine a product's dimensions and its mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
Set up and perform testing on materials, parts, or finished products to measure product performance under a variety of conditions.
Responsible for test results documentation.
After products have been fully tested, the quality control lead evaluates the data.
Prepare summaries to show how the product might differ from existing standards of quality and reliability.
Suggest changes in how products are made to achieve the best quality possible.
Recommend methods to minimize the amount of scrap, or leftover material, which is thrown away after a product has been manufactured.
Areas in which quality control lead can specialize include: product design, purchasing, inventory control, or research and development.
Select and assign quality control duties, and evaluate the performance of the team in their assigned role.
Arrange trainings as related to improving quality control measures and ensures that labor relations requirements are met.
Maintain records and reports and issue correspondence, reviewing errors and their causes and giving advice to correct such errors.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Demonstrates technical skills. Requires basic competency related to function.
Demonstrates basic functional and/or process knowledge and participates in process.
Has awareness of Flex technologies/ techniques.
Requires the ability to utilize charts, tables and specifications, and operate a variety of measuring instruments.
Basic understanding of typical quality tools, such as 8d, statistical process control, FEMA and control plans. ISO/FDA Auditing experience a plus.
Use of the following tools may be required: Office Skills: telephones, data entry, office software to include word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation package

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
ASQ certification as CQT, CQA, CQPA or CSSGB is desired

Scope / Impact:
Low impact; limited to the specific work area. Proactively assists supervisor in reaching goals/targets of line or department.

Decision Making / Discretion:
Limited decision-making responsibilities. Makes guided or scenario - based decisions requiring management approval. Decisions affect individual task

Supervision / Leadership:
Typically receives no instructions on routine tasks and general instructions on new tasks.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and work that requires repetitive motion. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

Physical Demands:
*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision. Ability to handle small components
