Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Quality Engineer located in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Quality Director the Quality Engineer will be maintaining quality engineering programs, standards and improvements within the organization.
What a typical day looks like:
- Develops and implements standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation of product quality and reliability.
- Designs sampling procedures and creates forms for recording and reporting quality data, while also managing discrepant material disposition.
- Directs quality teams, compiles training materials, and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- Ensures data integrity for quality-related information, consolidates results, and initiates corrective actions as necessary.
- Establishes and maintains quality standards for production processes, evaluates equipment precision, and liaises with regulatory bodies.
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires 6 years of experience in engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related field, supplier quality experience is preferred.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Typically requires skill and troubleshooting, and diagnostics, and overview of the entire test process and the ability to train others.
- Demonstrates technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
- Must be able to travel up to 10%.
