Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Operations Trainer located in Columbia, SC

Reporting to the Associate Training Supervisor the Operations Trainer is r esponsible for creating and assessing standard work instructions in the production area, and coaching, assisting and training the employees in their job responsibilities.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Create and support standard work and training practices.
  • Update individual employee training tracking as necessary.
  • Validate training effectiveness through the audit process.
  • Train and coach the employees in the Trainer/Operator position to ensure confidence and success for Flex.
  • Provide support and documentation expertise to CPI events and initiatives (edit standard work documentation, oversee training/retraining and provide suggestions on what training tools would be most effective) as necessary
  • Assure and conduct high quality, calibrated training across all sites.
  • Assure and conduct uniform assimilation of equipment, processes and products within site
  • Partner in safety and quality training within the site.
  • Develop themselves and others to support organizational readiness.
  • Act as a liaison for "Best Practice" communication across the sites.
  • Publish communications and updates through the established structure and network as necessary.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Has awareness of Flex technologies/ techniques. Demonstrates basic functional and/or process knowledge and participates in process.
  • Experience with public speaking, presentations, and annual trainings are required
  • Requires basic competency working properties of various metals.
  • Demonstrates basic technical skills and possesses good mechanical aptitude.
  • Requires ability to read drawings, sketches, blueprints, and engineering orders.
  • Use of the following tools may be required: Precision Measuring Tools: micrometers, calipers, quality control inspection equipment, thread gauges, and basic machine shop tools; Conventional Machine Shop Equipment: lathes, mills, grinders, vertical and horizontal saws; C.N.C.: vertical mills and lathe with Fanuc controller; Set-up: adjusting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut; tolerances.
