Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Lead located in Salt Lake City, UT.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Lead role involves being responsible for providing leadership and direction to groups of non-exempt employees.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Provide feedback to supervisors about employees' performance through formal and informal meetings.
  • Coordinate people resource requirements for the department.
  • Communicate priority tasks to team daily and lead efforts towards production goals.
  • Highlight and investigate material shortages or discrepancies.
  • Help alert other departments about planned and unplanned downtime.
  • Avoid downtime due to material shortages by ensuring that lines are supplied with sufficient materials.
  • Update "pass down" and "down time" communication reports to ensure communication flow with opposite shift.
  • Follow quality indicators and help alert others if predefined indicators fall below the target.
  • Organize employees' at assigned workstations and rearrange assignments when necessary.
  • Identify cause of mass failures and make the necessary adjustments to overcome errors.
  • Recognize, monitor, and overcome bottlenecks.
  • Motivate and mentor individual employees and small groups of employees.
  • Monitor employees' performance and communicate to trainers what additional training is needed.
  • Have the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform all job requirements in area of responsibility.
  • Be a leader in promoting compliance with 5S+1 and quality assurance practices.
  • Be supervisors first point of contact and be able to fill in for supervisor when necessary.
  • Ensure that accepted reasonable accommodations are met for employees in area of responsibility.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
  • Successful completion of company required training.
  • Must have 1 year of manufacturing experience at Flex or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to other employees, and supervisors of the organization.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex instructions.
  • Must have knowledge of some Microsoft office applications such as excel, word, and power point.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in various forms.
