Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add an Electrical Engineer located in Austin TX.

Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Electrical Engineer supports from the electrical engineering standpoint various functions for the facilities organization including maintenance and alteration of office, manufacturing, warehouse, truck yards, parking, and equipment, as well as layout, arrangement. May coordinate, manage, and direct the electrical design, planning, construction, maintenance and alteration of building electrical infrastructure, equipment, machinery, - and other facilities infrastructures.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Support the new projects plans review
  • Develop scope of work for electrical projects and maintenance activities
  • Supervises maintenance and alteration of all areas and equipment within the building(s), as well as layouts, arrangements, and housekeeping of all facilities.
  • Determines electrical work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties for subordinates and examines work for conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Act as liaison between Flex and the Electric Utility Company
  • Support Finance functions for utilities consumption allocation
  • A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the facilities unit.
  • Coordinates purchase orders within budget guidelines and files monthly reports to accounting, corporate, and/or facilities management
  • Develops long range plans, conceptual designs and capital outlay requirements and documentation for electrical infrastructure.
  • Formulates and coordinates program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts and associated documents.
  • Inspects construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Oversees and directs maintenance personnel and workers engaged in facility equipment installation, facilities equipment repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Supports the Disaster Recovery Plan and ensures site readiness.
  • Supports facilities safety and training programs, first aid and First Responder program; Lock-out/Tag-out, Arc-Flash compliance to OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain building electrical as-built drawings
  • Develop and implement energy and operational savings projects.
  • Understand Utility Plant/ Building Operation- Electrical & Mechanical systems: Compressed Air Systems, Chilled water systems, Heating water systems, Process Exhaust, Process Vacuum, UPS, Emergency Diesel Generators, Air Handling Units, Process Water
The experience we're looking to add to our team,
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • +5 years of experience in facilities engineering or related field, including supervision.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel knowledge.
  • Executive reporting skills
  • AutoCAD Skills
  • Medium and High Voltage Systems
  • Building Automation
