Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an Director, Operations Engineering located in Austin, TX.
Reporting to the Sr Director, Operations the Director, Operations Engineering, Oversees the activities related to the technical support and process development engineering functions of a manufacturing area. Plans and implements the development of new and scale-up process formulas. Establishes operating equipment specifications and acts as a liaison with product design and development to ensure processes and designs are compatible. Leads efforts to achieve cost effectiveness and improved product quality. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
What a typical day looks like:
- Ensures adequate statistical rigor is applied to data analysis related to engineering analyses
- Direct and control the activities of a broad functional area through several senior Manufacturing & Product engineering leaders involved in activities related to process engineering capabilities, statistical process control systems and engineering change controls.
- Organize and lead Project/Program reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications.
- Partner with other functional leaders to ensure manufacturing engineering activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations.
- Provide guidance and feedback to subordinate leaders to ensure achievement of goals and objectives.
- Plan, budget, and manage the Manufacturing Engineering group costs in line with corporate objectives.
- Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce.
- Develop, modify, and implement company policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have company-wide effect.
- Regularly interact with executives and/or major customers in controversial situations, contract negotiations and OEE commitments matters for which influence and technical skills are required.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering electrical, Chemical, Industrial or any other related field
- 8 years of experience in a similar position
- Medical devices industry / ISO 13485, FDA, CGMP
- Pharmaceutical
- Clean Room
- ERP, MRP
- Excellent Business skills as well as people management and staff development prowess
- Ability to interface and communicate with different levels of the organization
- Strong communication skills and collaborated
- Extensive implementation of TPM across multisite
- Implementation of corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance system
- Manufacturing engineering, maintenance and reliability
- Multisite management
- Business excellence Lean Manufacturing
- Six Sigma Green / Black Belt preferred
- Automotive previous experience
- A Master's or MBA degree is preferred.
