Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): NC, MA, CA

The Senior Portfolio Manager II - CDF plays a critical role in managing a robust Community Development Finance (CDF) loan and/or CDFI investment portfolio for all post-closing action items, including construction loan disbursements, loan modifications, conversions, permanent loan performance monitoring, and reporting. This role's portfolio may include a higher loan volume and/or loans that are more complex and/or sensitive in nature, as well as may mentor and coach other teammates.

In partnership with CDF Relationship Managers (Originations) and CDF Loan Operations (Closers and Servicers), this role serves as the primary FCB post-closing business contact for a dynamic affordable housing loan portfolio comprising of construction and permanent loans and/or CDFI investments, as assigned. This role serves as lead post-closing business contact with internal and external parties including borrowers, equity partners, public entities, credit examiners and/or auditors, representing FCB as loan-level expert for all required action items to maintain a high-quality portfolio in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Loan Portfolio Management - Serve as loan-level expert for a portfolio of complex construction, permanent and/or CDFI loans, including knowledge of loan documents, transactions and underwriting. Conduct loan modifications as needed with limited supervision, including underwriting, credit analysis and legal document modification. Lead the post-closing relationship with the Borrower to maintain a high degree of professionalism to encourage repeat business with the Bank. Provide independent oversight of troubled assets in partnership with CDF leadership and Credit. Implement loan monitoring policies and procedures to ensure consistent management of the loan portfolio. Ensure all file systems are updated and accurate for audit purposes.
  • Financial Reporting and Covenant Compliance - Independently maintain accurate loan risk ratings by analyzing loan performance, preparing annual reviews and reviewing/affirming risk ratings as needed. Contribute accurate loan-level information for portfolio-wide reporting. Complete all site visits, covenants, and annual reviews in a timely manner. Maintain reporting information on relevant tracking systems (i.e. BOSS, ET&T) for accurate reporting. Complete all reporting in a timely, proactive, accurate and independent manner.
  • Participates in meetings, trainings (inclusive of Bank required compliance courses) and other duties or special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 4 years of experience in Credit Analysis, Credit Underwriting, Portfolio Management

Preferred Education: Bachelors

Preferred Area of Study: Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Public Policy/Planning

Preferred Area of Experience: Finance, Banking, Real Estate, Public Policy/Planning

Knowledge of the affordable housing industry, Knowledge of loan portfolio management policies, processes and procedures

If hired in California, the base pay for this position is generally between $171,000 and $203,000. If hired in Massachusetts, the base pay for this position is generally between $164,000 and $194,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
