Overview
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office. This role will be located in Charlotte, Raleigh, NC or Phoenix, AZ.
As a part of the Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) team, the Senior Manager Business Enhanced Due Diligence position will support the General Bank within the first line Enhanced Due Diligence program. The role is responsible for conducting enhanced due diligence on client segments that may pose a risk for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, or reputation risk in support of all legal and regulatory requirements as a large financial institution. You will be tasked with leading enhanced due diligence reviews of prospective and existing clients, ensuring that they are compliant with FCBs enhanced due diligence requirements. Manages the recruitment, training, and development process for staff.

Some responsibilities include:
- Oversee EDD review process and review in-depth analysis of client profiles, business activities and ownership structures to assess money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crime risks.
- Supports BU participation in relevant risk governance group meetings utilizing advanced understanding of the BU operations, risks, controls and related laws and regulatory guidance.
- Works with senior management to create risk management strategies ensuring key risks are appropriately managed and are aligned.
- Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes department achievements by providing professional development.
- Risk Strategic Activities - Works with senior management to create risk management strategies ensuring key risks are appropriately managed and are aligned. Provides BU risk considerations for business/strategic plans. Effectively challenges risk programs outputs, ensuring bank and regulatory alignment.
- Enhanced Due Diligence Reviews - Oversee EDD review process and review in-depth analysis of client profiles, business activities and ownership structures to assess money laundering, terrorist financing and other financial crime risks. Serve as subject matter expert and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices related to EDD, KYC, BSA, Sanctions and AML regulations.
- Risk Governance & Regulatory Engagement - Supports BU participation in relevant risk governance group meetings utilizing advanced understanding of the BU operations, risks, controls and related laws and regulatory guidance. Provides feedback and collaborates on relevant governance documents to support BU activities and manage risk. Supports the implementation of program policies, standards, and procedures. Ensures timely communication around current and emerging issues and regulatory requirements. Participates in regulatory inquiries, examinations, and audits in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Coordinate regulatory submissions, response and reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission. Monitor regulatory developments and findings and assess their potential impact on the organization's risk profile and regulatory compliance
- Managerial Functions - Establishes and monitors expectations to achieve company and department goals. Makes appropriate changes to team policies, procedures, and efficiencies to meet objectives. Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff. Maximizes department achievements by providing professional development. Participates in mandatory risk training and educates BU personnel on key risk programs and topics. Develops and manages short- and long- term staffing needs.
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Financial Services and First Line Risk, Enterprise Risk, AML/Sanctions Risk or Operational Risk
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Financial Services and First Line Risk, Enterprise Risk, AML/Sanctions Risk or Operational Risk
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree with 4 years of managerial experience
- 6 years of experience AML or first line risk management
- CAMS certification
- Knowledge of operational and enterprise risk management, including identification, assessment, and escalation or risk issues.
- Ability to track and coordinate large, complex processes.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise and operational risk, as well as risk control frameworks.
- PC Skills including Microsoft Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint
