Overview
As Senior Data Steward, you will act on behalf of a Business Unit to execute data requirements to ensure data is governed and managed in alignment to data governance policies and standards. This role is responsible for critical data identification, documenting metadata and data lineage, managing data quality and issue resolution. This position provides consultation and collaborates with peer associates, business leaders, the Bank's Data Councils, and other stakeholders on strategies that achieve data governance goals. Senior Data Stewards may provide mentorship to less experienced associates in the work group.
Responsibilities
- Critical Data Identification, Metadata, and Data Lineage - Identifies critical data assets and critical data elements on behalf of the Business Unit. Captures and maintains data asset inventory and associated attributes. Documents and maintains metadata as defined in the associated standards and procedures. Collects, reconciles, and maintains data lineage on behalf of the BU for critical data assets.

- Data Quality & Issue Management - Defines applicable dimensions, rules, and thresholds for data quality control implementation. Identifies, coordinates, and manages resolution of data issues, and escalates to Business Data Leader as required. Ensures and facilitates certification and attestation processes related to data governance. Implements compensating controls to mitigate risk within appetite where needed.
- Communication & Change Management - Serve as point of contact for all data-related inquires and issues on behalf of Business Unit. Contributes and serves as representative for Business Unit on governance forums and committees. Maintains partnership with key stakeholders on behalf of Business Unit, including business and IT associates.
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, Technology or similar.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Data Management, Financial Analysis, Technology or similar.
Additional Requirements:
- Advanced Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality and Data Management principles and concepts.
- Ability to manage projects, partner and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders.
- Ability to assist and support detailed analysis and propose decisions.
- Subject matter knowledge of bank operations/systems and/or financial services.
- Business or Technology experience.
- Previous experience in the Legal domain.
- Previous experience as a Data Steward.
- Certified Data Steward (CDS), Data Analysis Certified (DAC), or Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP).
The base pay for this position is generally between $130,000 and $199,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
