Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a team of data scientists who are responsible for our Enterprise Analytics Tableau site. This role will work with stakeholders across the bank to enhance our site with new dashboards and solutions, optimizing existing dashboards, improving the user experience, and driving actionable business outcomes. Your primary focus will be to ensure our site is world class and we are strategic analytics partners to our business partners.
Responsibilities
Meet with stakeholders to expertly deconstruct business problems, identify appropriate analytical solutions to drive insights and actions, and work across teams to deliver solutions.
- Responsible for end-to-end project management with cross-functional stakeholders while balancing the needs and timelines of multiple groups, potentially concurrently across multiple projects.
- Craft dynamic narratives to drive actions and build effective relationships
- Own executive level updates using product management and agile frameworks in the context of developing analytical solutions
- Develop and maintain area(s) of technical knowledge and expertise, engaging with other team members in project reviews and technical consultations
- Bachelor's degree (computer science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or supply chain) with 6+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data science. Or high school degree with 10+ years experience.
- Master's degree preferred (computer science, mathematics, economics, statistics, or operations research)
- 5+ years of proven experience in the analytics space
- Previous experience in commercial banking supporting large (1000+) user base
- Extensive experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying Tableau dashboards on Tableau Server/Cloud with row level security
- Expert level Tableau Creator competencies and skills with proven experience leveraging concepts like: parameters, actions, LOD calcs, etc.
- Strong understanding of data science, statistical models, and tools
- Proven experience with performance recording and performance optimization
- Demonstrated proficiency with SQL and preferably at least one scripting language such as Python, R, etc.
- Ability to develop and enforce/execute on best practices and core standards

- If hired in MD or DC, the base pay for this position is generally between $191,878 and $259,600.
- If hired in NY or CO, the base pay for this position is generally between $ 183,526 and $248,300.
- If hired in IL or WA, the base pay for this position is generally between $175,174 and $237,000.
- If hired in MN or HI, the base pay for this position is generally between $166,822 and $225,700.
