Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This position is responsible for analysis at the highest level of complexity and data expertise. Assesses a wide scope of factors affecting business profitability, growth, and efficiency, and aids strategic initiatives to address identified issues. Evaluates current practices, collects information and industry trends, and creates specifications to support business initiatives. Develops and implements process improvements. Participates in special analytical projects and advanced technical reporting. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.

Responsibilities

The Digital Analytics team reports to our Global Digital Services product organization at Silicon Valley Bank. We are building a highly reliable analytics team that provides timely and actionable insights to our product managers to help them understand their digital users to explore opportunities, optimize digital experiences, and empower them to build the most sought-after digital platform.

Job Summary:
As a Sr. Business Analyst, you are responsible for analysis at the highest level of complexity and data expertise. You will translate business questions into analytical tasks, collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs), build analytics solutions, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders related to feature adoption, product performance, customer satisfaction and other key metrics. You will participate in the design and delivery of solutions (e.g., data sourcing, dashboards, proprietary models, visualization schemes, etc.) to meet our organization's needs. You must be able to articulate complex issues in easy-to-understand ways.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Identifying Business Objectives
• Capture and understand end-user requirements.
• Effectively use tools like data mapping documents, specification templates, project plan or JIRA to capture and communicate stakeholder requirements and timelines.
• Use the right prioritization and scoping framework to manage stakeholder expectations.

Data Analysis
• Understand data life cycle across the digital product ecosystem, collaborate with cross-functional teams in business & technology to identify the right source and data definitions.
• Perform data analysis on an advanced level, effectively communicating and directing the key take aways from the analysis output.
• Effectively answer business questions from multiple stakeholders and support Product teams in making data driven decisions.
• Follow the proper data security and governance guidelines while handling and communicating data insights.

Building data analytics pipelines
• Design, ELTL workflows for repeatable, scalable, and automated solutions
• Build data analytics pipelines, including quality checks, exploratory analysis, set schedule, set alerts, access control, and collaborate with enterprise analytics technology teams in production deployment.
• Develop, use, and implement innovative analytical workflow and modeling approaches that capitalize on data assets, identify best fit data insight tools possibly including advanced analytics and data science models, such as LLMs, etc.
• Project manage the design, build, and delivery of new analytical solutions with a pragmatic approach including evaluating multiple solutions.

• Reporting and insights
• Translate stakeholder requirements into customized analytical solutions and communicate insights via reports, dashboards, visualization etc.
• Leverage a suite of tools like Tableau, Power BI, Essbase etc. to build high performing and scalable analytical dashboards.
• Maintain the dashboard repository and reduce redundant solutions by partnering with cross functional analytics teams and learning the various reports already available within the organization.
• Contribute to establishing standards and best practices for the analytics org. Proficient in SAS applications, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Analytics, or modeling, or reporting OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Analytics, or modeling, or reporting
    Preferred Qualifications:
• Data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Essbase, etc.)
• Advanced excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Analysis ToolPak, macros/VBA)
• Data wrangling, workflows, and automation (e.g., SQL, Alteryx, Business Objects, etc.)
• Proficient in Oracle, IBM Netessa, PostgreSQL, SAS, Python etc.
• Analytics, reporting, data modeling, ELTL, Proficient in PowerPoint to create insight walkthroughs to various teams including executive leadership.
• Versatile in learning and picking up different software, tools, methodologies, or coding languages.
• Demonstrated ability to create custom solutions that solve business problem.
• Demonstrated experience in presenting reports, insights, and data analytics findings.
• Relevant experience in data & analytics topics in consulting, client engagement, or project execution.
• Willingness to learn and grown with a "Can do" and "I will figure it out" attitude who isn't afraid to fail.• Prior experience working in, or domain knowledge of Digital product analytics is a plus.
• Statistical or quantitative analysis (e.g., multiple regression, multivariate analysis, network analysis, AI-ML concepts and techniques)
• Statistical software, or coding languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS)
• Prior experience in data engineering with ETL tools is a big plus.
• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms, tools, customer/employee survey analyses, segment analysis and pattern detection, etc.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and stakeholder management across multiple business functions
• Familiarity with project managements concept, such as agile practices
• Familiarity with cloud computing approaches, such as IBM Netezza, AWS, Azure, etc.
• Familiarity or hands-on experience with data science, machine learning, and AI

Preferred Area of Study: Computer science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or relevant fields
Preferred Education Level: Master's degree is a plus.

If hired in CA, the base pay for this position is generally between $137,855.00 and $186,509.00. If hired in AZ, the base pay for this position is generally between $126,418.00 and $171,036.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
