Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States with the preferred location in Raleigh, NC, where the expectation would be to come in the office 3-4 days a week.
We are seeking an experienced project and risk management professional to join our growing Regulatory Affairs team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and ensuring efficient and organized management of regulatory activities and associated department-wide initiatives. You will play a critical role in supporting our business, risk, and audit partners in executing supervisory activities and communicating key findings and thematics. Through your experience in project/risk management, you will not only execute, but also assist in developing and maintaining program governance documentation including procedures, standards and desktop manuals. As part of a collaborative and dynamic team, you'll bring insight and drive efficiency across supervisory activities and internal, risk-based initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the complete end-to-end regulatory supervisory process and has risk, compliance or internal audit experience. The candidate should also have exceptional relationship management skills and possess an ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and be able to manage multiple complex priorities and initiatives at a department and enterprise level.
Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end project management of regulatory activities.
- Support the execution of departmental transformation initiatives.
- Cooperate with internal stakeholders from all three lines of defense during supervisory activities and related initiatives.
- Assist in reviewing and developing action plans for regulatory responses, ensuring alignment with established program standards and governance framework.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders across the Bank and assigned regulatory agencies.
- Drive effective internal communication related to supervisory activities, ensuring stakeholder awareness and alignment.
- Collaborate with business partners to conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis of regulatory issues.
- Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of management reporting related to supervisory activities, remediation efforts, risks, dependencies, and escalations.
- Develop and maintain program governance documentation, including procedures, standards, and desktop manuals.
- Design and refine program tools and templates which facilitate the execution of program activities and related initiatives.
- Champion the adoption of Governance, Risk and Compliance systems, ensuring effective usage for supervisory activities.
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Project management or Program management OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Project management or Program management
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the bank supervision and supervisory activity process and management reporting.
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify potential roadblocks, mitigate risk, determine next steps, and adapt plans necessary to ensure program success.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis and provide insights.
- Demonstrated experience in collaborating with, effectively leading, and tactfully challenging cross-functional teams, encompassing business managers, auditors, risk analysts, and project/program managers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment requiring attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Experience balancing multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a focus on timelines and deliverables.
- Effective communication skills-both oral and written-to collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Proven experience working in a banking risk and compliance function handling highly sensitive, confidential supervisory information.
- Proficient to advanced skills with the Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio and Outlook, with the ability to create, edit, and format documents, tools, spreadsheets, presentations, and emails.
- Familiarity with bank Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems.

The base pay for this position is generally between $115,000 to $180,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
