Principal BSA/ AML Advisor - Investor Services (Remote)

Overview

This position provides BSA/AML and Sanctions compliance expertise and support to Senior business unit leadership and their functional areas' efficient and effective management of applicable inherent compliance risks in the clients, products and services offered by the company through its various business lines and geographies. The role also provides oversight and effective challenge through relevant key programs and processes to advance the Bank's compliance with applicable regulatory and internal policies requirements and expectations, as well as assuring applicable risks are managed within Board approved Compliance Risk Appetite and Tolerance.

Serves as a liaison between corporate, legal, and division teams to identify and resolve complex issues. Assists management with special projects and initiatives that foster an understanding of and compliance with applicable regulations, rules, and standards. May provide leadership to less experienced associates in the work group.

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Business Unit Standard and Procedure Advisory Service. Provide guidance to the business units to ensure their procedures and other relevant documents are in alignment with Enterprise BSA/AML/Sanctions policies and standards.
  • Change Management Advisory Service. Serves as a liaison between the FIU's Program Governance, Client BSA Risk, Financial Crimes Oversight and Sanctions Compliance team, the Principal Advisor provides guidance and advice on best practices implementing regulatory and operational changes.
  • First Line Risk Management Advisory Service. Provide advice and guidance to the business unit supporting its execution of AML/BSA/Sanctions related controls, including the following: Business of Interest, Country of Interest and Client BSA reviews. Issues management (Internal, External and Self-Identified). Operational Risk Events. Risk and Control Self Assessments.
  • Compliance Expertise. Maintains expert knowledge on AML/BSA/Sanctions laws, regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures that affect assigned area of the Bank. Serves as a subject matter expert in providing guidance to management and associates related matters. May facilitate compliance trainings, educational resources, or other methods of strengthening knowledge within the Bank of applicable rules, regulations, and standards. May participate in industry events or professional organizations in order to remain knowledgeable on factors that could impact enterprise activities. May also lead special projects as assigned and oversee work of other associates, as needed, without maintaining direct management of associate's annual performance plan.
Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and 10 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking or other related experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 14 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking or other related experience

The base pay for this position is generally between $190,000 and $220,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
