Overview
This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.
The Middleware Governance Sr. Business Systems Analyst is responsible for defining, implementing, and enforcing policies, standards, and best practices for middleware technologies within the organization. This role ensures middleware platforms are secure, compliant, high-performing, and properly integrated across enterprise applications and services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive API governance standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency, security, and scalability across the organization's API ecosystem.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory and security requirements related to middleware components.

- Evaluate and integrate innovative middleware technologies to enhance existing infrastructure, aligning with business goals, and optimizing API performance.
- Collaborate with development teams, architects, and stakeholders to ensure API middleware solutions meet business requirements and adhere to governance standards.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the middleware design review and ensuring of API middleware solutions ensuring have a seamless integration between systems and data flow.
- Conduct regular assessments of existing API middleware platforms to identify areas for improvement, potential security vulnerabilities, and opportunities for optimization.
- Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Performs data analysis at an intermediate level, effectively communicating and directing analysis output. May handle special projects or direct the analytics efforts of the governance team.
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Systems Support, or Analytics, or Operational Support OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Systems Support, or Analytics, or Operational Support
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in middleware administration, governance, or IT related role. OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in middleware administration, governance, or IT related role.
Strong knowledge of middleware technologies such as:
- Messaging & Event Streaming (Kafka, IBM MQ)
- API Gateways (Apigee, AWS)
- Middleware Security, Compliance, and Risk Management
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with IT teams, auditors, and business stakeholders.
- Certifications in IT Governance (e.g., ITIL, COBIT), Middleware Technologies, or Cloud Platforms.
The base pay for this position is generally between $115,000 and $165,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
