IT Risk - Quality Assurance Analyst III (Remote)

Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

Control Quality Assurance plays an important role in maintaining compliance with regulations, mitigating risks, and reducing cost by verifying control effectiveness across First Citizen's Information Technology organization.

The Technology Quality Assurance Analyst III is responsible to verify adherence to First Citizen's Information Technology (IT) standards and procedures and to promote continuous monitoring of control performance.

Responsibilities

Control Quality Assurance

  • Define the Control Quality Assurance approach to ensure the IT control effectiveness testing conform to standards and procedures.
  • Establish Quality Assurance objectives for controls including metrics, review process and expected output.
  • Review the effectiveness of controls associated with IT business unit control functions in the inline identification of risks, and associated mitigation or escalation, as required.
  • Identify the critical control points for validation and perform Control Quality Assurance testing of compliance with all applicable procedures and regulations.
  • Compare results, analyze the defects or deviations, determine their cause, and identify weaknesses and/or vulnerabilities of the control testing procedures and results.
  • Identify control testing automation opportunities to reduce control testing time and improve consistency.
  • Produce report of Control Quality Assurance testing results and review with Management.

  • Document Key Control Indicators (KCI) to provide information on the extent to which a given control is meeting its intended objectives.
  • Develop systematic process to assess the effectiveness of IT controls at a particular point in time.
  • Proactively monitor KCI and existing Key Risk Indicators (KRI) against desired tolerances and set objectives and identify any gaps or anomalies.
  • Collaborate with the relevant IT Business Units to gain insights into any deviations and their corresponding resolution plans.
Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Quality Assurance experience in a Financial Services organization OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance experience in a Financial Services organization
    License or Certification Type: American Society for Quality certification(s) Required
Preferred skills and experience
    • Strong knowledge of IT Control Assurance and Control Testing. 5 years minimum hands-on experience.
    • In-depth understanding of NIST and/or COBIT and/or FFIEC Frameworks and requirements.
    • Working knowledge of QC and QA methodologies.
    • Expert in MS Office applications; Power BI and/or data visualization tools
    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in analytical method verification.
    • Organized and detail oriented, self-driven, and capable independently solving problem.
    • Capable of handling multiple projects at one time, and changing priorities based on business needs.

If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $100,636 and $154,309. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
