This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.
First Citizens Bank is seeking to add to their Banking Relations Group team within Treasury Operations. This role is responsible to provide critical support to the General and Commercial Banks Business Units, focusing on strategy and guidance to senior leadership on correspondent bank relationships, contract negotiations, cost effective banking services and revenue generating opportunities. The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to drive business growth, mitigate risk, offer subject matter expertise, and implement key business strategies whilst ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities
- Operational Support - Manage and streamline relationship management support processes.
- Support the Banks effort for an optimal strategic footprint of our global banking partners including identify consolidation of existing banking partners.
- Identify and assist in the building of an effective banking structure and new products to support and enhance Business unit needs for sustained and accelerated growth.
- Prepare strategic Banking analysis and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as Cash Positioning team, Treasury Operations Support, Investment Operations, Accounting, Legal, Third-Party Risk Management, Treasury, Tax, Technology, Risk Management and Liquidity management to drive initiatives.
- Work closely with the Banking Relations Operations Team to ensure seamless operational readiness for day to day and strategic change.
- Reporting - Translate complex banking and business unit products and provide actionable insights to management.
- Promote change management initiatives across the enterprise to enhance the current banking infrastructure.
- Conduct regular partner bank reviews including performance KI's but not limited to Inherent risk, due diligence and KYC.
- Stay up to date with global economic trends and financial regulatory environment changes.
- Data Analysis - Track key operational metrics and provide reports to senior management.
- Analyze trends and recommend operational improvements.
- Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met consistently.
- Analyze, benchmark and negotiate pricing contracts with our banking partners and where necessary.
- Conduct RFP process through to completion to mitigate appropriate gaps or inefficiencies.
- Process Improvement - Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance service delivery.
- Implement and leverage digital tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual errors and improve processing speed.
- Ensure data integrity and security in all operational processes.
- Compliance & Risk Management - Monitor, mitigate and strengthen operational risks.
- Strengthen controls and enhance risk management across Banking Relations Group through the use technology infrastructure.
- Ensure Regulatory reporting requirements are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Provide advisory services to Business Units and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Finance or Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Finance or Analytics
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Global and Domestic banking products, services, industry standards plus, experience in managing global FI's and network partner relationships.
- Experience and knowledge of SWIFT and FI utilization of same.
- Understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions / Financial Crimes etc., and compliance requirements in the Banking Industry.
- Knowledge of Fee management and network management tools a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
