This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States, with regular travel expectations.
We are seeking a Director of Technology for Wealth Management to lead planning, program management & governance, drive execution of delivery of technology solutions used at First Citizens Wealth. This is a leadership role that collaborates with executives in First Citizens Wealth to develop a technology roadmap and lead execution to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that enhance customer experience, operational effectiveness and help achieve the overall business goals. Own operational excellence for tightly integrated technology platform work efforts and closely collaborates with key stakeholders to drive strategy alignment and delivery of work toward organizational goals. Responsibilities
- Define the vision, goals, objectives, roadmap, and execution plans to deliver business capabilities that help achieve goals for First Citizens Wealth.
- Elicits and refines business technology roadmaps, including setting priority and understanding cross team impacts.
- Provide leadership in delivering technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability Collaborate with business, technology, and risk partners to ensure alignment and effective implementation of required practices.
- Lead end-to-end technology delivery, ensuring successful execution of enterprise programs and projects. Define and implement best-in-class delivery frameworks. Oversees solution delivery, technical implementation, and deployment of technology initiatives (complete delivery lifecycle).
- Manages multiple high complex processes, programs, and products spanning numerous technology domains and business areas.
- Provides direction and oversight to large scale projects and products. Assigns project tasks, drives project schedules, product releases, and conveys results or updates to the appropriate parties. Develops and utilizes methods of tracking performance.
- Communicate effectively with executive leadership, providing regular updates on initiatives, risks, and value delivery.
- Leads cross functional development from design to delivery with oversight on project execution risk. Strategizes, schedules, and aligns financials and resources essential for executing major initiatives and programs, ensuring delivery of key business outcomes. Develops methods for monitoring the progress and performance of these initiatives and programs, within the assigned technology function. Examines outcomes to identify potential issues, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Manages the performance, training, and evaluation of assigned staff.
- Supports budget forecasting, capital planning and invoicing.
- Manage critical vendor relationships and activities.
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Information Technology including application development, support roles, and management. OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Information Technology including application development, support roles, and management.
- Experience leading teams in complex projects & programs.
- Experience leading teams supporting Wealth Technology.
- Strong management skills and familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
- Exposure to leading teams and delivering in an agile model.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Experience leading communication with Senior Executives
- Must have 8+ years of people management experience.
- Ability to collaborate with the business stakeholders in defining roadmap and recommending ideas to solve business problems using technology.
- Project or Program Management experience is a plus.
- Experience working with Wealth product vendors - FIS, Pershing or Envestnet is a plus.
