Overview
This role is responsible for conducting Fraud SAR Investigations of unusual activity in a high volume, fast paced environment. The position requires the ability to independently investigate complex qualitative and quantitative information. Investigation findings will be documented in a clear and concise manner to be submitted within required deadlines. The Compliance Analyst will have the ability to not only maintain their own work but provide guidance and expertise to their peers for investigations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to interact and communicate with various levels of team members and management. The Compliance Analyst must be a subject matter expert (SME) with common financial institution fraud typologies, including but not limited to check fraud, ACH fraud, wire fraud, and P2P fraud. Prior AML/BSA experience identifying and documenting typologies including but not limited to structuring and the movement of high velocity transactions is also required. Additionally, the Analyst must be an SME with Suspicious Activity Reporting (SARs) and arriving at the appropriate investigative determinations.

Responsibilities
- Produces thorough but concise documentation of investigative findings including activity analysis, and decision rationale; and
- Communicates effectively with law enforcement, internal partners, and management.
- Conducts time-sensitive reviews of completed case and SAR work
- Assists management with various projects including but not limited to: procedure updates, management of daily task flows, identifying and remediating process gaps
- Collaborates with both internal and external partners
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Investigation of Financial Crimes or Customer Due Diligence in a financial institution or in combination with law enforcement OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Investigation of Financial Crimes or Customer Due Diligence in a financial institution or in combination with law enforcement
License or Certification Type: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist within 2 years of hire or placement PreferredSkill(s): Understanding of Bank operations as well as industry regulations, trends, and best practices
