Analyst -Telcom, Media, Telecommunications (TMT) - hybrid

Overview

This is a hybrid role (with the option to work full time onsite) with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

First Citizens Technology, Media and Telecommunications provides cash flow and asset-based senior debt for communications and technology companies in the middle market throughout the United States.

This Underwriter II supports the Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT) team through underwriting, analysis, and structuring recommendations for TMT portfolio. Identifies, gathers, and reviews financial information to determine borrower risk ratings and appropriate loan structuring. Assesses and communicates risks within new and existing TMT accounts. Provides service and support for both associates and clients, assisting in customer calls.

• Participate in all stages of a prospective TMT loan transaction, including due diligence, financial modeling, credit approval memo preparation and presentation, legal documentation and post-investment portfolio management
• Complete in-depth analysis of potential borrowers' business models, analyze financial trends to build projection models, and identify key potential investment risks
• Participate in calls and meetings with potential corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors, and other market participants
• Assist with preparation and presentation of comprehensive credit approval memoranda for credit investment committee
• Manage loan transaction workflow processes and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ensure compliance with all FCB policies and procedures and build a firm understanding of FCB systems and resources

• Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and historical financial analysis OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and historical financial analysis.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Economics
• Completion of a formal credit training program
• Ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous project deadlines with a strong sense of accountability and commitment
• Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to function independently and as part of a small team
• Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel
