Responsibilities

Reporting to the Principle DNS Engineer, the Role will possess hands-on experience with administration and customization of Linux Systems. The candidate should be experienced in working in a diverse environment supporting development environments and production environments. The role will also be responsible for researching, planning, coordinating & implementing systems within the CTIO department.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

• Expert level of experience with Linux Operating systems

• Well versed with security aspects and maintain system security as per industry standards and vulnerability remediation

• Experience/Knowledge of DNS and BIND

• TCP/IP networking and core technologies, such as DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, etc.

• Linux system monitoring and performance tuning

• Experience of Red Hat Satellite

• Experience of NIS

• Use automation tools like Ansible and Puppet, to streamline system administration task

• Strong scripting on multi-platform

• Isolate hardware and software problems on servers and work with vendors to resolve issues as necessary

• Collaborate and communicate with architects, internal departments and partners

• Compose and compile thorough documentation

• Follow and apply configuration and security standards and policies within a defined Change Management process

• Ensure high availability of IT services through adoption of industry best practices, including monitoring systems performance and providing superior operational support and maintenance

• Provide third level technical support to the organization, for all technology currently installed

• Escalate unsolved problems to management or the vendor, as appropriate

• Ensure that adequate systems documentation is kept up to date on all production systems

• Perform selective administration of and support the company's Linux Server Infrastructure

• Conduct research and troubleshooting activities on existing outstanding issues related to the Linux environment

• Create scripts where feasible in order to automate processes

• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of all documentation related to processes and procedures, infrastructure diagrams, technical manuals, TDDs etc
