The Role

The VP, Tax-Exempt Managing Director role is a great opportunity to provide planning and consulting to Higher Education, HealthCare and non-profit organizations to improve the value of their benefits programs and ensure their satisfaction with Fidelity!

The Managing Director in TEM builds, maintains and develops strong and committed client relationships with key decision makers, influencers and C-suite committee members. You will be responsible for 10-15 clients in the New York area with DC assets ranging from $150-$600M. This is a consultative role, requiring a clear understanding of the business needs and relevant challenges of each client. You will work to ensure client loyalty by seeking feedback, anticipating needs and proactively providing solutions!

The Managing Director will be working from home in the NY, NJ, CT area and needs to be comfortable working remotely/ independently from a personal home-based office.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Licensing & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years overall work experience and 5+ years of Participant or Client Service experience, preferably within the retirement industry.
  • We require associates in this role to have their Series 7 & 63 licenses
  • Experience working directly with Tax-Exempt Plan Sponsors and Participants is helpful, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engaging key decision makers and advisors/consultants frequently to develop a deeper understanding of client needs and opportunities.
  • Monitoring trends impacting client satisfaction within own book of business. Summarizes and communicates to others as needed; develops a response plan for maintenance or improvement.
  • Maintaining awareness of changes in the client's business, their competition, industry, and marketplace, through proactive solicitation and/or research, to influence and impact client satisfaction.
  • Leading business planning and service reviews to understand clients' goals and objectives. Appropriately position products and services that will help the client achieve their overall benefits goals.
  • Building productive long-term relationships with consultants and/or advisors in partnership with Consultant Relations.
  • Working with consultants and clients on inbound inquiries, plan sponsor presentations, plan design, product, technology, customer issues, fund changes, revenue requirements, pricing, Fidelity thought leadership, plan analytics, etc.
  • Developing and maintains collaborative relationships across a broad spectrum of Fidelity business partners to drive operational accuracy, efficiency, and problem resolution.

The Team

Our team works with tax-exempt organizations to promote better outcomes for their employees. This role leads and collaborates with an internal team of service-based associates and partners across the organization to resolve client problems and offer solutions for client needs. Together with internal teams and partnering with the Plan Sponsors, the VP MD helps our institutional clients lead a successful benefits program to improve their employees' overall wellbeing.
The base salary range for this position is $112,000-$255,000 per year.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
