The Role
We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Analytics Developer to join our Advanced Data Analytics and Insights team. You'll contribute to the development of the Alternative Investment Risk Analytics & Oversight Platform, which is critical for monitoring the investment risk profiles of Fidelity's alternative investment funds. Your work will focus on designing and developing the Investment Risk Analytics Platform, supporting ongoing evaluation of investment risks across Fidelity's fund complex, with a particular emphasis on Alternative products. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Advanced Data Analytics, the Investment Risk Management team and Quantitative Research and Investments technology partners throughout Fidelity.

Responsibilities
In this client-centric position, you will be responsible for developing key data insights, predictive analytics, and reporting dashboards. These tools will empower our Investment Risk Analysts to proactively monitor and manage risks. Your advanced risk analytics and reporting will support engagement with CIOs, compliance, and Portfolio Management teams across the organization.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and enhancing various risk reporting processes, such as derivative exposure measurement, leverage risk reporting, and VaR Backtesting
- Working with Risk Managers to implement robust investment risk models across all Alternative investment products
- Writing Python scripts to compute portfolio risk measures and monitor risk analytics
- Utilizing SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Enhancing reporting and visualization features in existing Streamlit applications
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- MBA/MS in relevant quantitative field (Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics etc.)
- 5+/- years relevant experience in quantitative development role within asset management
- Highly Proficient technical abilities including programming experience with: Python or R, SQL, Snowflake, Oracle, Tableau
- Strong analytical and problem-solving background
- Experience with data analytics or business intelligence related projects in the areas of data requirements gathering, analysis, design, interpretation and translating them to analytical solutions
- Expertise in navigating large SQL data sets including discovering, cleaning, analyzing, and preparing data for ingestion
- Experience telling stories with data leading to informed and rapid decision making
Technical Background
- Awareness of the software development lifecycle or experience building full stack solutions
- Comfortable building automation solutions with the following technologies (Python, R, REST API / microservices architecture, PL/SQL, UI tools, no-code/low-code or cloud-based solutions)
- Experience with DevOps principles and best practices (CI/CD, Git)
- Interest for Data Engineering, Data Analytics and leveraging BI solutions

Desired Skills/Knowledge
- Nice to have: Investment Risk domain knowledge across Portfolio Management, Research, Trading, Compliance, and Investment Operations
- Background with fixed income, equity, or alternative investment products
- Investment risk management best practices and systems; Axioma, Barra, Bloomberg, FactSet, RiskMetrics etc.
- Experience with VaR & Tracking Error risk models and related risk metrics
- Prior experience developing machine learning models, solutioning and pipeline automation

Our groundbreaking work significantly contributes to achieving Asset Management's goal for driving our business operations, scale, and efficiency objectives.
In this role, you will work directly with the Head of Advanced Data Analytics & Insights to support a team of Investment Risk Managers who partner with the Chief Investment Officers and investment professionals to define relevant risk metrics and produce reporting that would provide assurance that investment managers are taking appropriate types and levels of risk for each client mandate and that those risks are measured accurately, monitored continuously, and taken purposefully.
