Position Description:
Designs and develops mobile applications. Collaborates with architecture, security, and user experience design teams to ensure architecturally compliant applications. Designs and develops mobile application User Interfaces (UIs) for Android architecture mobile applications. Monitors the Android build process. Monitors the alpha build for the Google mobile application, executes necessary bug fixes, and upgrades the mobile application with Google new releases. Researches and investigates new mobile platforms and technologies and acts as an engineering advocate for the adoption of new experiences. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Participates in code reviews, pull requests, and pairs programming.
- Defines and implements application-level architecture.
- Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
- Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
- Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
- Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
- Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
- Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
- Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
- Mentors junior team members.
- Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
- Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
- Researches the latest technologies to implement and align with architecture, user experience, and security.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Mobile Developer (or closely related occupation) developing mobile Android applications, using Android Studio and Kotlin programming languages.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Mobile Developer (or closely related occupation) developing mobile Android applications, using Android Studio and Kotlin programming languages.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") supporting the full Android-based mobile application development lifecycle - analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment - using Git/Stash, Arti-factory, Android modules, JIRA, Azure, Jenkins, and uDeploy according to Agile methodologies.
- DE supporting financial-based mobile applications with trade (Stock, ETF, options trading and strategies, and Mutual fund) to build features to allow users to execute transactions.
- DE performing the implementation of UX designs in both Material2 and Material3, and performing RESTful Web Services, data persistence, and Web Socket integration used for streaming data services, using Firebase Cloud Messaging; and analyzing business requirements to develop Android based mobile online trading applications, using Kotin, Java, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Clean architecture.
- DE performing Object-Oriented Design (OOD), following SOLID design principles leveraging interfaces, Concurrent Programming using Coroutines, and Reactive Programming (Flow) to implement solutions for enterprise Android-based mobile applications using design patterns (Gang of Four, Clean Architecture, and MVVM) and using testing frameworks (Junit and Espresso).
