Position Description:

Designs and develops resilient data infrastructure for 401k recordkeeping platform, including Oracle DB on Azure and Azure-managed services - Data Factory, Storage Account, Azure Key Vault. Develops generic data movement and data transformation Extract, Transform Load (ETL) frameworks using Shell Scripting, Control-M, Azure Data Factory, Oracle PL/SQL. Develop deployment frameworks across environments and teams using uDeploy, Groovy scripting, and Jenkins.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to ongoing development efforts.
  • Provides technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives and serves as a technical expert for the team.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis and provides comprehensive documentation for multiple initiatives.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments supporting multiple phases of a project, including testing, Production deployments and important maintenance activities.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing/bug fixes of any problems and assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, both onshore and offshore, across the IT organization and business as needed and mentor junior team members.
  • Develops deployment frameworks with several stages of automation, including configuration management and self-service deployments.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing resilient data infrastructure for 401k recordkeeping platform and delivering ETL solutions using Oracle and Azure technologies in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing resilient data infrastructure for 401k recordkeeping platform and delivering ETL solutions using Oracle and Azure technologies in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") setting up Oracle databases on Azure, provisioning Azure Data Factory (ADF) Infrastructure, and enabling data replication across multiple type of databases using Oracle GoldenGate or IBM Change Data Capture (CDC) to support the development of a 401k recordkeeping platform; provisioning Azure services (Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, and Virtual Machines) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
  • DE building out the automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) deployment process, including self-service deployments and configuration management, using Git, Shell scripting, Groovy Scripting, Jenkins, or IBM UrbanCode Deploy for Oracle or Azure Data Factory objects; building data movement frameworks from Mainframe to Azure using shell scripting, IBM z/OS Network File System (NFS) concepts (in Linux ecosystems), AzCopy utility, or Control-M.
  • DE designing and implementing highly performant Oracle database PL/SQL packages and complex SQL queries to perform Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) operations; developing data transformation and ETL pipelines to migrate data across varied platforms (Mainframe system files and tables, Oracle tables, or Azure Storage Account files) using Informatica and Azure Data Factory; executing unit testing, performance, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) using SQL Developer, Toad, or Apache JMeter.
  • DE supporting rehydration and version upgrades using Azure Resource Manager (ARM); performing resiliency testing and periodic disaster recovery testing on several types of data components (Virtual Machines, Databases, Storage Accounts, IBM CDC or ETL pipelines present on Azure Data Factory or Control M).

Salary: $126,850.00 - $136,850.00 /year.
