Job Description:
You will act as a Senior Database Engineer who will play a senior technical role on a dynamic Agile-based Scrum team as a member of the Treasury Work Space (TWS) squad. You will work closely with the Squad Lead, Scrum Master, Systems Analyst, Quality Assurance, Architects, and other Developers, to craft, build, test, and deliver the features that make up Fidelity's Investment Professional user experience. You will also be expected to assist in providing guidance and mentoring to junior Developers within the wider Finance and Fund Oversight (FFO) technology chapter.
The Role
- You have good programming skills (Oracle SQL and PL/SQL) and also have skills ( good to have) Python, scripting etc.
- You can independently figure out technical challenges, identify options and come up with innovative solutions.
- You can do Analysis, Design, Estimation and Development of the database components.
- You know Job Scheduling Technologies like Autosys or Crontab
- You have good knowledge in Data integration and management platforms like Informatica, Snaplogic or other ETLs
- DB modeling and tuning the queries for DB performance on a larger dataset.
- Five or more years of experience collaborating in a team environment to develop, deploy, and support key applications and features.
- A passion for system analysis to provide our business partners with the best solution structure for them.
- A demonstrable understanding of the Agile software development methodology
- A working knowledge of application deployment and runtime operations in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
- Experience with Java middle tier application development and programming especially with RESTful Web Services (Java, J2EE, Junit)

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Oracle Database Engineering expertise
- Strong critical thinking skills coupled with a desire to learn and engage with peers in technical and design discussion.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating technical needs and capabilities to non-technical team members, product owners and business partners.

The Treasury Work Space system is a key application within Fidelity's Asset Management portfolio of technology. TWS supports The Treasurer's Office (TO) mission to provide fiduciary oversight of Fidelity's retail and institutional portfolios, client and shareholder activities, and service providers by:
- Providing proactive fiduciary oversight of Fidelity's retail and institutional portfolios, clients and shareholder activity, and service providers.
- Using industry knowledge, technical experience, and our responsibility as fiduciaries to set and monitor adherence to policy.
- Engaging with clients and governance structures, including the Audit Committee.
Review and certify shareholder reports and filings and oversee resolution of issues.
