The Group
Headquartered in Boston, the High Income & Alternatives group has more than $100B in assets under management (AUM). The group's AUM are invested "across the capital structure," including in high yield bonds, leveraged loans, convertible bonds, alternative credit, and equities. Fundamental research is the foundation of the group's investment process.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bank Loan Trader for the High Income and Alternatives Trading Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for trading bank loans, providing insights on markets, strategizing on liquidity and execution, and have a deep understanding of collateralized loan obligations (CLOs). This role requires expertise of loan market dynamics, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with portfolio managers, analysts, counterparties, and other stakeholders.

The Value You Deliver

  • Execution capabilities within bank loans, with the main focus on the secondary market, but expertise in primary is also required.
  • Develop and implement trading strategies to maximize portfolio performance, including sophisticated portfolio trading, market structure, and electronic execution.
  • Have a deep understanding of credit analysis, capital structure, LME, and relative value.
  • Be a key team member in the CLO issuance effort, providing strategy and insights.
  • Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments, communicating insights to the investment teams.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with institutional clients, brokers, and other market participants.
  • Collaborate with the research, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure timely and efficient settlement.

The Experience and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in bank loan trading or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of loan market structures, pricing, and risk management.
  • Proven track record of successful trading and portfolio management.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
