The Role

Fidelity Digital Assets℠ is looking for a driven Quantitative Researcher with an interest in Digital Assets to advance the research, integration, and development of our quantitative expertise and contribute to the development and execution of advanced quantitative strategies.

You will have a scientific background with outstanding research and problem-solving skills within a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) environment.

Candidates should be curious, creative, and agile in learning and apply innovative approaches to our research problems as the challenges we address do not typically have a straightforward solution.

• Conduct meticulous research to identify patterns, trends, and inefficiencies in digital asset markets.

• Develop, backtest, and validate quantitative trading models and strategies.

• Leverage statistical, econometric, and machine learning techniques to improve alpha generation.

• Explore groundbreaking academic developments in quantitative finance and digital assets.

• Publish findings in internal research notes and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into actionable strategies.

• Engage and collaborate with academic and industry partners to remain at the forefront of innovation.

• Stay on top of industry developments and evaluate new data sources and relevant systems for potential use cases.

• Implement appropriate algorithms and strategies in Python, ensuring robust, efficient, and scalable code.

• Develop tools for data analysis, model validation, and visualization.

• Work closely with the Head of Quant Strategies and other team members to align research goals with our business strategy.

• Present research findings and actionable recommendations to other team members and internal partners.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in a highly theoretical field like Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer science, or Engineering with impressive achievements (PhD preferred)

• Strong academic record with publications in reputable journals is a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in Python for data analysis, modelling, tool development and, the ability to implement theoretical concepts into practical solutions.

• Strong quantitative skills in statistical, econometric, and machine learning methods.

• Experience with backtesting frameworks and model evaluation techniques is a plus.

• Familiarity with digital asset markets, blockchain technology, or traditional financial markets is a plus.

• Proven ability to conduct independent research with good scientific intuition and deliver actionable insights.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity.

• Prior experience in quantitative research, trading, or a related field is preferred but not required for outstanding candidates.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively.

• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Self-driven with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
