Position Description:

Develops, designs, integrates, and implements continuous development and testing solutions. Builds and implements effective test strategies. Develops and oversees software development, system tests and validation procedures, programs, and documentation. Develops software and test automation frameworks using Java, J2EE, XML, HTML, JSON, Web services, AWS, Spring boot, Cucumber, Terracore, EKS, Junit, and Maven. Builds automation test scripts consisting of Selenium Web driver and Selenium Grid for automation, using Cucumber and Serenity architecture. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application level architecture.
  • Lead, learn and train software engineers, this will include different approaches for a most effective outcome.
  • Analyzing and recommending changes in project development and testing policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends application testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Supports Quality related compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Conducting Quality Review for each application and provide quality related compliance and test metrics.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.


  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Incorporates and streamlines test automation into build CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing applications and building automation frameworks using Java.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing applications and building automation frameworks using Java.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing applications, and test automation frameworks using Java, J2EE, XML, HTML, JSON, Web Services, Spring Boot, Cucumber, GitHub, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Terracore, Cloud, EKS, Junit, and Maven; developing JIRA-XRAY rules to implement application quality related compliance and reporting requirements; creating automated test scripts using Cucumber Serenity, AWS, Terracore, Kafka-based micro services, and Selenium automation frameworks; and integrating automated test scripts using XRAY and Jenkins.
  • DE working with squads within multiple domains to build and implement effective development and test strategies; developing quality assurance (QA) automation for Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) developed on Spring Boot, and performing QA automation of digital platforms within a brokerage or financial services environment, using JavaScript, Eclipse, IntelliJ Idea, and Jenkins.


  • DE developing sound development and testing strategies; developing and automating SOAP and Restful Webservices using Java, AWS, Cloud Testing Infrastructure, Cucumber, and designing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, GIT Stash, and Maven; and performing application log monitoring and reporting using Splunk.
  • DE performing J2EE Object-oriented development and deployment of enterprise integration patterns, using REST protocols, JSON/XML data formats, Spring Framework, and JavaScript; and performing deployment management on Apache Tomcat servers.
