The Role

As the portfolio delivery manager, you blend deep portfolio management and work delivery organization expertise with an understanding of the needs of the engineers delivering the work. You organize and manage the portfolio of engagements and delivery work to ensure continued alignment and prioritization of work with other key initiatives. In an agile structure, you will partner with other Fidelity leaders to establish delivery priorities based on an understanding of customer needs and enable execution of these priorities. You are committed to developing your own knowledge and bring the latest thinking to your role.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 10 years leadership experience organizing outcomes in partnership with cross-functional teams that span organizations and levels.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence others
  • Proven ability to drive collaboration across teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex issues and opinions into simple stories.
  • Attention to details, proactive self-starter.
  • Ability to make intuitive decisions about portfolio resourcing and prioritization and negotiate with consumers and producers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead in an agile context.
  • Experience with the technologies and trends of the modern technologies we utilize
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Confluence, JIRA, JiraAlign, Miro and reporting skills.
  • Experience engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • You have experience organizing strategic portfolios and work delivery and leading the development of solutions and offerings aligned with and in support of organizing and tracking the work
  • You have a continuous improvement approach and encourage and enable an agile way of working
  • You have strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills with which you influence and engage across Fidelity and at all levels of the organization
  • You take a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
  • You have or are committed to building a balance of technology and non-technology skills in order to fully appreciate the broad needs of the role

The Team

The ETGS Software Engineering Excellence COE is responsible for building and sustaining a culture of engineering perfection. The mission of the COE is engineering excellence across the engineering community with focus areas on engineering effectiveness, engineering enablement, measurement and maturity, engineering innovation and engineering culture and craft.

The COE provides a set of core advisory capabilities, builds an engineering community and engineers solutions to meet the broad needs of the engineering population. The COE works in partnership with the UDE product area and leaders aligned to ET SWE chapter areas, ET Architecture, and works closely with CAPE and ECS in delivering solutions.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
