National Director, Wealth Management

The National Director, Wealth Management role is a senior level leadership position within Fidelity's Private Wealth Management group, which manages the largest planning and investment management clients for the firm. As the IMC Director, Wealth Management you will have a national presence, responsible for a team of Investment Management Consultants with deep investment expertise. You will hire, train, develop and lead the team, holding them accountable for meeting relationship and service level goals. You will be responsible for over $60B in AUM, including both acquisition and retention of Fidelity's most complex clients and achieving business level KPIs.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree and advanced degree preferred
  • CFP, CFA and/or equivalent recommended
  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant financial services experience required. Relevant HNW client experience in dealing with complex wealth management issues
  • 5 or more years of management within a financial services environment preferred
  • Series 7 (General Securities) and Series 9/10 (General Supervisory Principal) and Series 66 (Investment Adviser) licenses required

The Purpose of Your Role

As the National Director, Wealth Management, you will work extensively with our PI partners to build out the next generation of our UMH strategy and with our PWM RVPs to build out the investment expertise of the broader PWM organization. You will interface with all levels of the organization as a subject matter expert on all aspects of the investment management process-from portfolio construction, transition analysis, repositioning, and ongoing management with a fiduciary lens on both the approach and the execution. Additionally, you will work with the Head of Strategic Clients and IMCs to execute on the long-term strategy, offering and engagement of the firm's most complex and important clients.

The Value You Deliver

Setting Direction: The Vice National Director should understand the industry, the financial markets, competitive influences, approach to PWM clients and the overall sales process to ensure the right support to clients, and drive the appropriate KPI's for the broader business

Client Escalations: Work with the IMCs, internal partners, and clients as necessary on complex client escalations

Fidelity Navigation: Of behalf of the client, work with business partners to develop solutions and execute on those, to ensure client needs are met.

Practice Management: Partnering together, the National Director and the IMCs will develop this proactive element to the overall investment strategy, bringing the overall high-touch investment capabilities to life

Hiring, Training Coaching, Supervising and Developing: The job is to put the right team in place and give the IMCs the tools and resources they need to excel in their roles

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
