The Role
As a Manager of a newly established Investments Center of Excellence (COE) you are responsible for supporting and executing our accounting strategy and policies, both technical and operational, over FMR LLC's consolidated portfolio of investments. You will also be responsible for executing and maintaining controls and assist in the day-to-day oversite of the investment operations accounting processes. You will be a main contact for investment related questions and analysis. You will work across the firm with various stakeholders to support change and continuous improvement as new investment products, including alternative investments, continue to emerge. You will also work to improve and modernize the current investments process with the Central Accounting Team, technology teams, and external vendors. This is a high visibility role that offers exposure to many of the business unit accountants, auditors, finance, tax, treasury and the global financial controls team.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, and/or master's degree in accounting and CPA preferred
- 5+ years of relevant accounting, and/or consolidated investment reporting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), consolidated investment reporting, and internal controls
- Investment accounting experience working with a variety of different types of investments. You will help to identify process improvements and recommend changes to existing business and system policies and procedures.
- Experience designing and implementing accounting processes and financial systems.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of financial systems and multi-dimensional reporting tools (i.e., Oracle, Oracle Free Form Planning, InvestOne, Workiva, Power BI, Tableau)
- Highly motivated, flexible, quality focused team player with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to quickly grasp complex organizational/ownership structures.
- You have the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
- You are passionate about details while maintaining a broad view of business objectives.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills that build and maintain strong, constructive relationships with business partners.
How Your Work Impacts the Organization
As a member of the Investment COE Accounting team, this role is exposed to a broad range of investment accounting topics that will directly impact the annual and semi-annual financial statements for the consolidated company, FMR LLC. This role will be responsible for ensuring FMR's investments are correct in the general ledger and subsequently the financial statements. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with members of various teams across Corporate Accounting as well as Treasury, Finance, Fund Accounting and Tax. This role will have a big impact on the future direction of the investment accounting process at the Company, as the mix of investment products is evolving.
