The Role
We are seeking a motivated graduate level Quantitative Developer Intern to join the Advanced Data Analytics and Insights team and contribute to the development of the Alternative Investment Risk Analytics & Oversight Platform. This platform will be instrumental in monitoring the investment risk profiles of Fidelity's alternative investment funds. The intern will use technologies such as Python, SQL, and Streamlit for developing UI reporting. They will develop Python scripts to compute custom risk metrics and portfolio exposures, use SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and enhance reporting and visualization features in existing Streamlit applications.

- Currently pursuing MBS/MS in quantitative field such as Financial Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics etc.
- Highly proficient technical abilities: Python, R, SQL, Snowflake, Oracle, Tableau
- Strong analytical and problem-solving background
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills
- Basic understanding of portfolio management, investment risk analysis, and the financial industry.
- Strong knowledge of probability and statistics (e.g., data science, machine learning, time-series analysis, pattern recognition, NLP)
- Expertise in navigating large data sets (structured and unstructured) and discovering, cleaning, analyzing, and preparing data for ingestion

The Team
The CRBO Advanced Process Solutions and Innovation team is on the frontier of blending emerging technology and advanced data analytics to enable Asset Management to work smarter, faster, and more proactive. Much of our work is truly groundbreaking and provide a major contribution to Asset Management's business operations and scale and efficiency objectives.
In this role, you will work directly with the Head of Advanced Data Analytics & Insights to support a team of Investment Risk Managers who partner with the Chief Investment Officers and investment professionals to define relevant risk metrics and produce reporting that would provide assurance that investment managers are taking appropriate types and levels of risk for each client mandate and that those risks are measured accurately, monitored continuously, and taken purposefully.
